Today my form told me about their experiences reading Sherlock fanfiction. Their ages range from twelve to thirteen, their heights from miniscule to pipsqueak, and their sanity from shaky to batshit.

They say that they appreciate the fanart as it saves them from having to google the more complex terminology.

I'm afraid I will have to be shutting down the internet forever now and bleaching my brain but it has been so nice knowing all of you. Do please enjoy the brave new world.

When I was around that age (height five foot eleven, sanity moving rapidly from shaky in a batshitwards direction thanks mainly to sleep-not), I discovered X-Files fanfiction. The very first fic I read, I chose at random; from the summary I concluded that the featured characters were Mulder and Krycek, though I wasn't sure why the author had put a slash between their names, and also there was something about NC and 17 that I didn't understand and so ignored. I was initally traumatised, but in the long run I learned a great, great deal from that fic.
Anyway, basically - give way to the new generation and let them have the same gifts that we were given. Though goodness knows that I would never, NEVER have mentioned fanfiction of any kind to any of my teacher. Points to you for being super approachable?
Far and away I wish do knock and enter.

Yes. I need to work on the approachability. I shall endevour to inspire more fear in the future. Although I'm glad you're happy with the situation!

I suspect that I'm happy with the situation because I'm very much at arms' length of it. Bon courage...
